Materials
The right film depends on what you’re packing, how long it needs to stay fresh and where it’s sold.

- Matte PET / AL / PEpremium matte finish with full barrier.
- One-way degassing valvelets CO2 out without letting oxygen in.

Printing and finishes
We print custom coffee bags with digital or rotogravure printing, depending on quantity. Digital is ideal for short runs and many designs; rotogravure gives the lowest unit cost on large runs.
Finishes include matte, gloss and soft-touch lamination, spot gloss, metallic and holographic films, white ink underprinting on clear and foil films, and clear windows in custom shapes.
Design ideas
Ideas that work especially well for coffee beans and ground coffee:
- Print roast date and origin.
- Use a degassing valve.
- Add tasting notes.
- Use kraft or matte black.
Not sure where to start? Tell us what you're packing, the fill weight and where it's sold, and we'll recommend a size, film and finish in your free quote. Our most requested sizes for custom coffee bags are 12 oz (5.5 x 8.5 x 3.25 in), 1 lb (6.75 x 10.5 x 3.5 in) and 2 lb (8 x 13 x 4 in). Smaller sizes suit samples and trial packs, the middle size usually fits your core product, and larger sizes work for family packs, bulk and wholesale. Because density varies, we always recommend testing your actual fill before printing. Fill custom coffee bags through the top before sealing, leaving at least 1 inch above the zipper. For the strongest closure, use an impulse or band heat sealer set to the temperature recommended for your film. If you're using oxygen absorbers or desiccants, add them just before sealing, and store finished bags away from direct sunlight and heat.
Protection and performance
Flexible packaging has to protect against oxygen, moisture, light and punctures. For custom coffee bags, we usually recommend one-way degassing valves and side gussets, with a film thickness matched to the weight and shape of your coffee beans and ground coffee. Sharp or heavy products may need a thicker gauge; aromatic products need a high-barrier, smell-resistant structure. Tell us what you're packing and we'll suggest the right build. Packaged foods sold in the US generally need a product name, net quantity, ingredient list, allergen information, manufacturer details and often a Nutrition Facts panel. Our food-contact films are suitable for dry and many moist foods; confirm requirements for your product with a regulatory advisor.
- One-way degassing valves: releases CO2 from freshly roasted coffee without letting oxygen in.
- Side gussets: helps the bag stand up or expand to hold more.
- Tin ties or zippers: lets customers reopen and reseal the bag, keeping contents fresh.
Sustainable options
Want a lower-impact option? We can make custom coffee bags with recyclable mono-material PE structures, compostable films or kraft paper laminates, and reduce ink coverage. Each option trades some barrier performance, so we'll help you match it to your product's shelf-life needs.
